Obituary for Bobby Joe Appleby

Bobby Joe  Appleby
Bobby Joe "Bob", Appleby, 78, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway. Born April 9, 1938 in Clinton, Arkansas to the late Willie and Annie Hunter Appleby, Bobby worked rising chickens and cattle. Bob was the second oldest of five brothers. Bobby was a member of the Center Ridge Church of Christ and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On Halloween night of 1957, Bob began "going steady" with the woman that he would marry 8 months later, Marie Morgan. Bob and Marie were wed on June 15, 1958. They would go on to share 58 years, two boys, five grandchildren, one great-grandbaby, and countless moments of love and laughter.
Bob loved guns, hunting, fishing, classic rock music, and the Lord. Bob devoted his life to be a great father, husband, brother, and Poppy. Bob's family was inspired by his endless love of God and his love of the outdoors.
Surviving Bobby are his wife of 58 years, Marie Morgan Appleby; children Bobby C. and wife Teresa Appleby of Clinton, Billy and wife Sheila Appleby of Springfield, Arkansas; siblings Jim and wife Helen Appleby, Junior and wife Joy Dean Appleby, Roger Hunter, Stephen and wife Shea Appleby, Doug Appleby, Cindy Downie and Tommy Appleby; grandchildren Kelsey Appleby, Adam Appleby, Amber Appleby, J.W. Smith and wife Katy and Bri Pate and husband T.J.; great-grandchild Cooper Pate; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other family.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Johnny Grayson Appleby and Jerry "Pete" Appleby, and Richard Hunter.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 31, from 5 to 7 pm at Clinton Funeral Service. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 1, at 1 pm at the Clinton Church of Christ with Brother Harold Bryant officiating.
A private family burial to follow at a later date.
