George William Johnson, 86, of Dennard, passed away at his residence February 26, 2017. He was born October 13, 1930 in Eglantine, Arkansas, to James Albert and Ruthie Bell Babcock Johnson.
George enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Eva Mae Linn Johnson of the home; his children Karen Howard of Eglantine, Pat Barrow and husband Johnny of Dennard, Nan Fancher and husband Kendall of Virginia; siblings Jack Johnson, Bennie Johnson, Dale Johnson, Ruth New, and Sue Bailey; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchilden, and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Grover Johnson, John Johnson, Hester Turney, Hazel Parker, Maxie Cullum, and Addy Mae Wood and son Howell Johnson.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Dennard Community Church. Service will follow at 3 p.m. with Bro. Ester Bass officiating and burial in the Dennard Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Chris Johnson, David Johnson, Jeremiah Howard, Chad Fancher, Jeremy Cunningham, and Jeremy McKinney.
