Larry Joe Lankford Sr., affectionately known by many as Larry Joe, passed away peacefully at his home in Crawfordville, Florida on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at age 74. He was born in Bee Branch, Arkansas on May 27, 1943. He was a master carpenter who constructed homes form Shreveport, LA to Little Rock, AR. and many small towns between.
He moved to Crawfordsville, FL. in 1994, continuing his work in the construction field until his retirement in 2006.
Larry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Gail Lankford, of the home; four sons, Larry Lankford Jr. and wife Tammy of Higdon, AR., Lynn Lankford of Conway, AR., Nathan Lankford and wife Taylor of Salisbury, MD., Justin Lankford and wife Carrie of Crawfordsville, FL.,; mother Louise Lankford of Bee Branch, AR.; six brothers, Roger and wife Gail of Benton, AR., Wayne and wife Mattie, Jackie and wife Shelia, Dwight and wife Donna, Therman and Wife Cindy, and Johnny Lankford, all of Bee Branch; two sisters, Karen Becker and husband Richard of Bee Branch, Regina Iburg and husband Larry of Vilonia; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Lankford and one daughter, Lawanna Pate.
Memorial Services will be Thursday, July 27th at 2 pm at Bee Branch Baptist Church in Bee Branch with Brother Craig Golden officiating.
