As a Civil War re-enactor you learn to cook over the open fire pit. One morning while preparing breakfast, Steve grabbed the coffee pot to pour himself a cup to warm himself. He grabbed the handle of the pot, picked it up, got this strange look on his face, slowly put it down and walked over to the adjoining field. We thought it was a little strange, but just figured he had something to do. The next thing we heard was a primorial scream and a loud exclamation. He walked back to the campfire, reached for his hankerchief and proceeded to pour his cup of coffee. Come to find out he had burned his hand from the coffee pot's hot handle. But he wanted to maintain the image of a Marine - a tough guy who is always in control. From that time forward, we have a tradition in our re-enacting company that if anyone burns themself or they are about to burn themself, you will hear the words - we don't want another "Marine Moment". He will always be remember by those infamous words.
